Utilizing classic, modern and contemporary plays/musicals to discuss historical context and social issues.  Discussions and self-reflection are imperative to the course.  Readings will be assigned to be completed prior to class discussions.

Tracey Gatte

For the last 21 years, Tracey has been a public education English and Theatre teacher in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  For the past 15 years, Tracey has been focused on Theatre only.  Tracey currently teaches Theatre 2, 3, and 4.  She has also taught Theatre 1(currently covered by two other instructors), Intro to Theatre, and Musical Theatre.  Outside of her daily theatre teaching, she also runs an internationally-recognized drama program.  Tracey directs full plays, as well as one acts for competition.  She also directs our yearly musical production.  At our state thespian festival, Tracey judges scholarship auditions, singing and acting, for monetary prizes. Tracey was featured in “Drama High” which was purchased by Jeffrey Seller and turned into NBC’s “Rise”. Rosie Perez played “Tracey” a character based/inspired by Tracey. Tracey also was a consultant for NBC on the television show. Tracey has worked with Lou Volpe to pilot various stage productions from MTI, including “Rent” and “Spring Awakening”, where her edits stand as the Student Version. Tracey is an active member of EDTA and works with local theatre companies.
