Millions all over the world know and love actress Denise Crosby for creating the role of Security Chief Tasha Yar in season one of Star Trek: The Next Generation before her character was famously killed by the alien creature Armus during the episode “Skin of Evil”. Though she returned to the Star Trek franchise in several platforms, Denise has never stopped acting in film and television, including pivotal roles on The Walking Dead and Suits.
In this interactive zoom class open to all – both acting students and fans alike, Denise will share personal stories from her colorful career and take your questions live. Attendees will be asked to kindly submit their questions in advance to ensure a productive and enjoyable experience for all.
Denise Crosby is an American actress, best known for her portrayal of fan favorite character, Tasha Yar, in season one of Star Trek: The Next Generation. After her character’s death, Crosby approached the TNG production team with the idea of reprising her role of Tasha Yar, which came to be in season three’s “Yesterday’s Enterprise,” in which an alternate timeline is created. Crosby went on to guest star in several other TNG episodes including “Redemption” and “Unification” as Romulan Commander Sela, Tasha’s half-human, half-Romulan daughter.
She reprised the role in the Star Trek: Armada video game, and again in the series finale, “All Good Things…”, in which Captain Picard is moving back and forth through time, and encounters Tasha during the events just prior to the pilot episode.
She is also known for producing the 1997 documentary, Trekkies, followed by the 2003 sequel Trekkies 2. Both films star Crosby, who conducts interviews with devotees of Star Trek, more commonly known as “Trekkies”.
Along with other Star Trek actors, she appeared in the “Blood and Fire” episode of the fan produced series Star Trek: New Voyages, playing Dr. Jenna Yar (grandmother of Natasha Yar).

Three episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead as Mary, a member of a group of cannibals. The character first appears in the penultimate episode of Season 4, “Us”, and made her final appearance in the season five premiere, “No Sanctuary”.
She joined the cast of the legal drama Suits in its final season as the ruthless Faye Richardson.
In 2006, she was a guest star in “Popping Cherry”, a first season episode of Dexter, appearing via flashback as the victim of Dexter’s first serial killing.
On the eighth season of The X-Files she played a doctor who examined Agent Scully’s baby.
In 1991, she guest starred as Dr. Rebecca Frost in The Flash.
She has had recurring roles in Ray Donovan, Southland & NYPD Blue.
Other guest starring roles include appearances on JAG, NCIS: Los Angeles, How to Get Away with Murder, Scandal, Castle, The Magicians, Prison Break, Lois & Clark, Baywatch, Dr. Quinn and Mad Men.
